The book, which has now sold 14,000,000 copies was written by Allen because he simply did not have enough time to see all the smokers who needed him in his clinic. So the book is based on the clinic session, not the other way round.   However, books are simply not for everyone. With a book you can pick it up and put it down, lose interest because of a short attention span or simply get distracted by something else while reading, like a telephone call.   In the session, you are led out of the smoking maze in one swoop! 5 hours and you are there, no interruptions, no distractions, no phones going off. In the clinic session there is also some extra material, graphic demonstrations, the opportunity to question your therapist who themselves have got out of the nicotine trap using Allen's method, plus a relaxation session at the end.   Jadea recently attended our Clinic - she too had read the book beforehand.
